Terms and
Conditions

All campers must be at pickup location. Please
bring driver's license, International Drivers Permit if necessary, second
photo ID (example Passport) and the credit card
used for payment. An open imprint of credit card will be
taken. The imprint will be kept by Canadian Adventure Rentals until
December 31 of the year and then destroyed. A photo of all campers
will be taken prior to departure. All above requirements are necessary for
legality and to reduce possible fraud.
HOURS OF OPERATION Canadian Adventure Rentals
Ltd. hours are between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm Monday through Saturday. Hours are subject to change and may reduce
between September 30 and April 30.
DRIVERS LICENCE,
PHOTO IDENTIFICATION AND DRIVERS AGE All drivers must
possess a valid driver's licence in English with
secondary photo ID (example
Passport/Visa). An International Driver's Licence will be necessary for customers with
a non English driver's licence
along with original drivers licence. Only drivers listed on the rental agreement are allowed to drive the vehicle.
No additional charge for additional drivers. Minimum
drivers age is 25. Canadian Adventure Rentals Ltd. reserves the right to refuse rental to anyone at our discretion.
RESERVATIONS A
non-refundable deposit of $250 Canadian is required when making a reservation. Payment may be made by credit card and is applied against the
total rental costs.
PAYMENT Full payment is required not later than 21 days or less prior to collection of the vacation package. All clients must possess a valid credit card. We accept Master Card and or Visa. If full payment is not received prior to departure, then Canadian Adventure Rentals
Ltd. reserves the right to cancel the reservations and charge cancellation penalties.
 TAXES
COLLECTED
Canadian Adventure Rentals
Ltd. will collect 12.0% taxes on all services and rentals for the Government of Canada and British Columbia.
5.0% GST + 7.0% PST = 12.0%
The Government of Canada collects the
5.0% Goods and Services Tax (“GST”) based on the product of the total number
of days of the Rental Period and the Total Rate per Day.
The
Government of British Columbia collects 7.0% Social Services Tax (“PST”)
based on the product of the total number of days of the Rental Period and
the Total Rate per Day.
CREDIT CARD IMPRINT AND PHOTO
An open signed credit card imprint will be taken for all
credit cards used for rental payments. The credit card used for imprint
must be the same credit card used for payment of rental package. The
credit card imprint will be used if necessary by Canadian Adventure Rentals
Ltd., Visa and/or
MasterCard for verification of possible use of fraudulent credit card.
Canadian Adventure Rentals Ltd. reserves the right to take a photograph of
rental customers at time of departure for security identification to police
in the case of fraudulent transactions. INSURANCE Canadian Adventure Rentals Ltd. maintains $5,000,000 liability insurance for the rental of its vehicle with a $300 deductible clause per occurrence. Canadian Adventure
Rentals Ltd. maintains $2,000,000 general liability insurance for the rental of its canoes, kayaks and mountain bikes with a $1,000 deductible clause per occurrence. EXTRA INSURANCE OPTION available to reduce deductible,
please read below paragraph.
A credit card insurance deposit in the amount equal to the
deductibles is required before departure. NO
credit card insurance deposit is taken if customer
purchases or receives the EXTRA INSURANCE OPTION.
All credit card insurance deposits are processed
prior to vehicle departure. This
credit card insurance deposit is refundable
in full when the vehicle and equipment is returned in its original condition as inspected prior to departure and clear of any third party accident claims. Damage to the undercarriage and interior not caused by a motor vehicle accident is not covered by insurance and is the responsibility of the renter.
EXTRA INSURANCE OPTION Reduce the $300 insurance deductible on the vehicle and the $1000 insurance deductible on the canoes, kayaks, mountain bikes to $300 with the Extra Insurance
Option. The Extra Insurance also covers the cost of any and each item lost, stolen or damaged.
NO credit card insurance deposit is taken
if customer purchases or receives the EXTRA INSURANCE OPTION.
Canadian Adventure Rentals
Ltd. must be satisfied, at its sole discretion that the renters took all precautions against theft and misuse of equipment as stated in the Rental Agreement. PICKUP
AND RETURN OF VEHICLE AND CAMPING PACKAGE
Arrangements are made for the vehicle
and camping package to be picked up at a predetermined location between 9:00 am and 11:00 am on the first day, and
returned at a predetermined location between 2:00 pm and 4:00 pm on the last day. All clients must contact Canadian Adventure Rentals Ltd. in advance to schedule their vehicle
and camping package pickup and
return time and location.
Arrangements for times other then stated above may be
available, please contact Canadian Adventure Rentals Ltd. Pickup and
return are subject to availability and are restricted to the Lower Mainland of Vancouver. Customers returning after scheduled
return time stated on Rental Contact are subject to late charges. To Map of Vehicle Delivery and Pickup Locations CANCELLATION POLICY For reservations cancelled more than 21 days prior to departure: $250
reservation fee. For reservations cancelled 21 days or less prior to departure and more then 5 days prior to departure a cancellation charge equal to 50% of the total booking. Full payment is due when the booking is cancelled 5 days or less prior to departure. Cancellation charges may be increased to cover any expenses incurred by Canadian Adventure Rentals Ltd. to prepare special itineraries, information packages,
campsite reservations and other product reservations. No refunds are given for early returns. ADVENTURE AND CAMPING EQUIPMENT The use of canoes, kayaks and mountain bicycles involves an amount of risk. Customers renting adventure equipment and camping gear assume all responsibility for any damage, loss or injury to themselves, other persons or to the equipment. Canadian Adventure Rentals Ltd. is not responsible for any injury, damage or loss as a result of renting its adventure equipment. A waiver contract will be signed by all parties planning to use adventure equipment
and camping gear. Customers renting
adventure and camping gear assume all responsibility for any damage to the equipment. All
adventure and camping gear must be returned in a clean, undamaged condition, complete with all accessories. AUTHORIZED AREAS Travel is only permitted on public roads. The vehicle is not permitted off road or on private forestry roads. Clients should check with Canadian Adventure Rentals Ltd. if they have a specific itinerary planned for confirmation that the route is authorized. Customers traveling without approval in unauthorized areas will be responsible for all repair costs and will not be covered by Canadian Adventure Rentals Ltd. insurance. MAINTENANCE RESPONSIBILITY The Canadian Adventure Rentals Ltd. vehicle is delivered in sound mechanical condition. Customers are responsible for all costs relating to the repair or replacement of tires, windshields, wiper blades and radiators.
With Extra Insurance Option customers are responsible
to a maximum of $300. Any damage to the brakes or transmission and 4 wheel drive system caused by abuse will be charged to the customer.
In all cases of abuse the Insurance and Extra Insurance Option will
not be used. Customers must check the condition of the tires, oil levels and coolant regularly and will be responsible for all costs and any damage for neglecting to maintain these systems. Canadian Adventure Rentals Ltd. will reimburse pre-authorized on-road maintenance expenses. FUEL The Canadian Adventure Rentals Ltd. vehicle is supplied with a full tank of gasoline. Vehicles are to be returned with the same level of fuel as at departure. Customers will be charged if they return with less fuel than at departure. NUMBER OF PASSENGERS The number of passengers cannot exceed five. The number of passengers traveling must be reported at the time of booking. Passengers must be seated with their seat belt on at all times while the vehicle is in motion.
CHILD SAFETY SEATS AND THE LAW

All drivers
are responsible for complying with all child safety seat requirements.

2008 new regulations
Following is a brief, plain language summary of the new regulations that will come into effect in July 2008:

All drivers
are responsible for complying with all child safety seat requirements.
-
Infants are to be secured in a rear-facing safety seat until they are a least one year old and 9kg (20 lb.). Infants may remain in the rear-facing position until they reach the upper weight limit for the safety seat. Rear-facing safety seats must never be used in a seating position with an active front airbag.

Children who have outgrown their rear-facing safety seat are to be secured in a forward-facing child safety seat until they are at least 18 kg (40 lb.).

Children at least 18 kg (40 lb.) are to be secured:
-in a booster seat in a seating position equipped with a lap and shoulder harness, or
-up to their 9th birthday unless they have reached 145cm (4'9") tall.
-
Children who have passed their 9th birthday or are at least 145cm (4'9") tall, must be properly restrained by an adult seat belt.
